These sculptures appear to be so simple and yet the level of detail is amazing! I feel as though they all belong in a dollhouse made from pipe cleaners.

I loved all the pieces. The simple designs, but each piece instills a feeling and the simple use of pipe cleaners to make these images are amazing.

They are sooo cute!! I love all of the details that you would never think to do are there. And she has amazing talent for working with such small objects.

I LOVED the moose! It's so tiny and she uses so much detail and color in all of her stuff! I was screaming at my mom to come and look at the pipe cleaner moose-SO AMAZING.

Pipe cleaners seem like such an easy material to work with, but it's really difficult to get them to form just the right shapes. All of her mini sculptures are detailed and creative- I wish she could have given us some tips for when we made our own!

I never really thought of using pipe cleaners in art but from these pieces, I saw that anything can be used to make beautiful art.

I really liked how everything looked kind of realistic in a sense but at the same time they looked artistic and creative. Everything was proportioned somewhat correctly besides some of the actual people. I liked the bust of the deer the best because it looked so similar to the real thing.

Their so cute since they're so tiny. I thought pipe cleaners were difficult to work with. Maybe she's just got more patience than me...

I really enjoyed looking at these cute, little sculptures. Even though they're made out of pipe cleaners only, I like that you can easily tell what they are because of the detail. I also like the texture that is created by the pipe cleaners.

The extensive detail in these pieces is amazing. Kristen Petersen started with a simple material and turned it into something as complex as a deer.

All of the peices look so easy to make, except for the reindear, but in actuality it must've took so much skill to craft them, because pipe cleaners are treacherous...

When you think of art, pipe cleaners don't come to mind, at least to me it didn't. Seeing these specific pieces let one know that art can be created from anything. The detail on each one was just amazing and the fact that they were just so tiny made it even better they were unbelievbly realistic.

Really cool pieces, the sculptures are very detailed and yet simple...I was very sad when I reached the last slide.

I thoroughly enjoyed the structure behind all of the pipe cleaner sculptures. Having worked with pipe cleaners to make my own sculpture I know the difficulty of making them form to the exact shape you want. I enjoyed the simplicity but the great detail put into the execution of the sculptures.

the deer head and the cactus are cool. I like how he uses the texture of the pipe cleaners aswell. However I do believe he should add a new aspect to his art as all the figures lack variation in anything but the actual figure being created.

All the pieces instill a fuzzy and warm feeling. Everything looks so lifelike and it's incredible how easy it is to see what she created. Most people look at pipe cleaners, and can barely imagine what you could create, other than simple shapes. Petersen, in a way, accomplishes what we perceive as impossible.

I like the cactus and the deer head. Its cool how the artist incorperates the texture of the pipe cleaner into his work

The deer was the coolest one, they were all really detailed which is impressive from pipecleaner sculptures

i liked the one withthe lawncahir and the cooler because, especialy when you could see the bottle being taken out. that was so cool. i wish i could make that...

I love how detailed most of the pipe cleaner sculptures were. There wasn't a single piece that I had to sit for a long time thinking of what it was supposed to be. I believe my favorite one was the deer with the antelopes because it seemed so real. I could just imagine the concentration and handiwork it took Petersen to complete these sculptures.

I wished my pipe cleaner sculpture would have turned out like those.

P.S. Did that lady with the pink dress have a white mustache, or was that a necklace?

All the pieces were amazing!!! I honestly loved every piece she did. The amount of work and detail she put into each sculpture is just unbelievable.

I really enjoyed looking through all of these. The precision and detail is what made them interesting and fun to look at. I also liked how the texture of the pipe cleaners made the furniture seem more realistic.

I'm not sure why, but while looking at Peterson's sculptures, I was reminded of miniature Sculpey clay sculptures (usually of food, particularly desserts*). I'm not too fond of pipe cleaners for 2D or 3D art because they're so thick, but I do think they look nice when made into those chairs.

I love all the tiny little details each piece has, like the grill having wheels and handles on the sides, i'm also surprised how she can make these tiny details since pipe cleaners are so thick

I really enjoyed looking at all of her little sculptures. They are amazingly detailed and I think she should work for a dollhouse company making furniture!

I really enjoyed looking at these little sculptures. They were all so detailed and I think she should start working for a dollhouse company making furniture. I especially liked all the different chair sculptures.

I love how the artwork is so simple yet it packs so much detail. Who said pipe cleaners dont make great artwork?

Olivia Jones said...

I LOVE how detailed the chair pieces are. Those were by far my favorite of all of the pieces.

WOW. When I opened the page and saw the first cactus, I instantly thought it was real and then my eyes refocused and saw that it was just a pipe cleaner. I am amazed and the hand-crafted detail that is shown here in the pictures. This young lady is obviously very dedicated and determined. This art is unique and wonderful, I love it!

Alex Yeung said...

I was very impressed with the artwork because it had the appearence that it was very simple and straight forward but yet if you look more closely you can really see each pipe cleaner that it took to create the final piece.

i really like the cooler it has beer with the label. it is very detailed like the guy lifting weights.

Can we do something like this Ms. Guizzetti? Also, is the entire sculpture pipe cleaners? Or does she have a base underneath?

Breanne Durovic said...

These are all pretty good!! Although I do think that given enough time, all of us could have made them. But I agree with Betzy, they all look like they could be in a doll house! They are great!

My favorite pieces are the pumpkins because the pipe cleaners recreate all of the ridges on a real pumpkin very well.

When we sculpt, we generally use 3d materials (i.e. blocks of clay or wook or books...) but pipe cleaners are (basically) 1 dimensional objects because they only have length. I think it's amazing Petersen has brought to life such intricate 3d objects with a 1d material.

It's amazing what you can make out of pipe cleaners. The sculpter must have had a lot of patience and a steady hand. I like how detailed some of the pieces are. They are really life like.

Rebecca Stover said...

they are really cool and detailed. They look like dolls.

Bryanna.Rivera said...

wow, i really like these they are so different and unique.

Maurice Goodman said...

Their extremely detailed for being made out of pipe cleaner, but my issue with them is that they don't convey any sort of artistic message, their limited to the fact that their just a craft, and less of an art. In a way, the use of such common and simple materials to make something so detailed achieves a sort of minimalist message.

It's crazy that she put that much detail into such tiny things. If I was really little, I would definitely sit on those chairs. They look rather comfortable.

I think all sculptures are really cute. I like all the detail that is put into each one. My favorite is the deer head because it looks so realistic.

I really liked the couch ones. The pipe cleaner adds a texture to it that just seems so comfortable. It makes me just want to sit on them!

I like the different texture and structure of the different art pieces she created. I like the form of the artworks and how they displayed concrete objects. I also like the angle and which she photographed the pictures so that the perspective looked like the pipe cleaner pieces were life size objects. I thought the creator of the pieces were really talented. I also appreciated her concept of depth in order to show the different levels of fullness in her object. I appreciated her consideration of when and where she wanted to use two dimensional shapes as well as three dimensional shapes. I think the artwork is extremely well done.

i've always thought pipe cleaners were more for little kids arts and crafts, but this work has changed my mind. knowing how hard pipe cleaners are to work with from our first project this year, i'm really impressed with the all the detail!

To think a simple pipe cleaner can be made into objects with the depth and detail of Petersen's is mind blowing!

I really like how these sculptures appear to be simply made, but are still intricate in design and form. My favorite sculpture is the one of the cactus.

The detail in all of her work is amazing. She really took the time to consider everything from texture to color and use it to her advantage.

They are adorable. I used to love to make miniature things when I was little for like doll houses and stuff, but this taken to a whole new level.

Nathan Wallwork said...

these sculptures are so well made. What makes them so interesting is that she took everyday parts of life and made them out of something that is generally reserved for kindergartners. The simplicity of her project makes it impact me a lot, as well as her precise technique.
